A Mother Goose Passover Tale

Below is a great short Passover video. A mother goose protecting its eggs is being guarded by a deer! It is an amazing example of how nature adapts and how the natural world does not always follow the plan as we understand it.

Why does this connect to Passover? Because the Hebrew term Pesach is what a mother bird does to her nest, scaring off predators. So here we have a mother bird, or perhaps the deer, Pesach-ing (to use Heblish) the nest preventing the destroyer, human beings or other animals, from harming the eggs.

Some people might call this a sign that Passover is coming. I simply call it a teaching opportunity.

Let us think of ways in which we all may cooperate this Passover to bring blessing and Shalom to one another just as this deer and mother goose.
